Owen Holloway (M.Ed), Department Head of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (EDIAR), St. Joseph Catholic High School, Edmonton Catholic Schools, Vice President, ECSD Teachers Local 54 Owen Holloway is an English as an Additional Language math teacher and the Department Head of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism at St. Joseph Catholic High School in Edmonton. He completed his Master of Education in Educational Studies at the University of Alberta, where his research examined leadership pathways for 2SLGBTQ+ educators in Alberta, exploring how identity, policy, and power shape opportunities for diverse leaders. He provides artistic leadership for Low Hanging Fruits, an independent Queer theatre company committed to sharing the lived experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ peoples, and was the 2025 recipient of the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Outstanding Fringe Director. A proud Naval Reservist, Owen serves as an officer supporting Sea Cadets in the Canadian Cadet movement. It is his profound desire to break barriers and showcase Queer excellence in all that he does. He is married to a union-side labour and employment lawyer, Jacob and looks forward to building a family in a just and equal Alberta.
