About me
Nancy Luyckfassel is an educational leader from Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and two master's degrees: one in secondary education and another in school counselling, with a focus on teacher wellness. Nancy’s career began in the classroom, teaching in Rocky View Schools and then continued in Elk Island Public Schools, moving into school leadership roles before joining the Alberta Teachers’ Association (2016) as an Executive Staff Officer. She has risen to the role of Coordinator, Professional Development where she continues to support and serve teachers across the province.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy is a dedicated family member, passionate runner, and community advocate. She comes from a small farming community and that upbringing instilled in her values that she strives to honor daily: humility, honesty, courage, and grace. She is open and honest about her own experiences and shares her learnings and research through stories and reflective practice. Her resilience, both personally and professionally, reflects her strong connection to family, community, and the broader educational landscape.
