About me
Kim Hutzul, Principal of D.A. Ferguson Middle School in Taber, Alberta, has over two decades of experience dedicated to creating supportive, inclusive, and innovative learning environments. She holds a BEd from the University of Saskatchewan, a Special Education certification, and an MEd from Brandon University. Kim began her career teaching Grades 1–6 in Saskatchewan, later serving as both teacher and principal in Alida and as a Reading and Language Specialist in Swift Current. After moving to Alberta, she rejoined education through Horizon School Division, eventually becoming Principal at D.A. Ferguson. Known for her collaborative leadership, Kim has championed initiatives like Leader in Me, Fox Force jobs, and expanded nutrition and extracurricular programs that foster leadership, wellness, and equity. She actively builds community partnerships to enhance student opportunities and believes every student can lead and thrive with the right support. Outside of school, Kim enjoys curling, travel, and time with her family.
