About me
Darby Murphy has served as both a teacher and administrator with Elk Island Catholic Schools for the past decade and is currently the Principal of St. Martin's Catholic School in Vegreville, Alberta. Growing up in and eventually aging out of Foster Care shaped Darby's deep passion for supporting children and families who are often marginalized. His lived experience has inspired an educational vocation of hands-on service: mentoring vulnerable youth, supporting families navigating complex social-service systems, and advocating for inclusive school environments. Darby loves supporting staff in creating compassionate, faith-centred practices within their classrooms, reflecting his deep desire to share the Gospel with "the least of these," a mission he continues to live out through his service on the division's Faith Formation Committee.
