About me
As the Director of Professional Learning and Development for the BCPVPA, Andrea is dedicated to designing and delivering impactful programming for aspiring, new to role, and experienced leaders. With extensive experience at both school and district levels, she holds portfolios in coaching, program design and development, complex facilitation, and leadership development. Andrea is passionate about fostering growth and development in educational leaders.
Andrea holds a Doctor of Education in Transformational Change, with specialized coursework in curriculum development and dialogue. She is a Professionally Certified Coach, Conversational Intelligence Core Skill Practitioner, Cognitive Coaching Agency Trainer and Adaptive Schools Agency Trainer. Additionally, she has training in Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, and Negotiation.
Andrea’s commitment to leadership development is evident through her role as Project Lead on the development of the BC Ministry of Education & Childcare Management Foundations Courses and the BCPVPA leadership competencies and her work in shifting adult learning to a competency-based pedagogy. She collaborates with districts to create aspiring leader programming, facilitates design thinking strategies to reimagine system approaches, and supports self-assessment and strategies for leadership growth.
Her strengths in envisioning, creating, connecting theory to action, and facilitating are invaluable assets in her role. Andrea’s ability to listen deeply to members and understand their needs, along with her focus on nurturing masterful leaders, aligns perfectly with the BCPVPA’s mission of fostering educational leadership to promote outstanding public education.
