About me
Stefan Johnson is the Director of Student and Staff Formation for Elk Island Catholic Schools, serving in the areas of Curriculum, Faith, and Wellness. This is the most recent posting in a twenty-five year career in which Stefan has served as high school teacher, English department head, division Religious Education consultant, school chaplain, and school administrator. In his years as an educator, he has argued with and cared for a few thousand students, marked too many papers, learned too few lessons, started one Chesterton Academy classical program, and formed countless enriching professional relationships. He is thankful for all of it. Stefan is keenly interested in human formation, particularly the moral formation of adolescents and the faith formation of adults. He has served on numerous working groups and committees in the areas of faith formation, faith integration (ie: permeation). He holds Bachelors degrees in History and Education from the University of Alberta, as well as a Masters in Religious Education from Newman Theological College. Stefan is a profoundly introverted person whom God continues casting into speaking roles. The rest of the time, he is a husband as well as a father. Any time remaining he devotes to reading. He is also a patient and hopeful Edmonton Elks fan.
